These are two beautiful Art Deco / Art Nouveau gloss plated Dutch liqueur jugs complete with original stoppers.
They are from the South Plateel factory, Holland, approx. 1920's and Gloss plated
These jugs have a decoration with floral motifs in black, eggplant, dark green and light green, with black stopper.
These jugs are a typical example of the Dutch Jugenstil from that period.
The jugs are made of hand-painted gloss earthenware.
The larger jug is marked 243 Gouda Lazarus gate Holland, with a year mark of 1922, signature of painter, and in red 58
The smaller jug is marked with 592/1 Gouda Lazarus gate Holland, the signature of the painter, and in red 62.
The jugs are completely intact, complete with stopper.
Dimensions:
Approximately 22 cm high x 10 cm in diameter.
Approximately 19 cm high x 9 cm in diameter.
They are in both in excellent condition and have been barely used with minimal signs of aging & wear. The larger jug has a barely visible chip in the edge of the foot.
