This is a a very desirable and collectable plate by Zachariah Boyle & Sons in Staffordshire c1828-1850
It is lead-glazed earthenware with decoration transfer-printed in underglaze blue.
In the middle a river-scene with ruins, figures and cattle.
On the rim, scroll-bordered panelling with various diaper and floral patterns.
It has the 'BOYLE' impressed mark.
This plate by Zachariah Boyle is a copy of Spode's Italian pattern

Condition: In excellent condition with no chips, restoration and repair.

Sadia Walsh (1928 - 2009). Sadia was born at Ravenswing, a country home in Mellor, Lancs, in February 1928. The fourth generation of the Cook family, Sadia lived at Ravenswing all her life - and filled it with objects she loved. Cultured, intelligent and well read, Sadia had a lifelong love of the arts, but her great passion was antiques including furniture, Georgian silver and glass, but particularly ceramics.
