Meissen Marcolini period (1774-1814) saucer.
The central gilt reserved panel is painted in enamels with a young shepherd guarding three sheep before a ruined archway.
The gilt border is worked with flowers, foliage and guilloché,
Crossed swords and star mark.
13.5 cms diameter.
Provenance: The Peter and Pat Crofts Collection. Collection. (A collection of a dealer couple who ran a Wisbech antiques shop for 51 years)
No chips, cracks or restoration and with only some surface marks from light usage
and some light rubbing of the gilt to the rim. A couple of tiny pin pricks on the head of
both the white sheep seen in certain light. Highlighted for accuracy.
