Unattributed 19th Century Blue and White Transfer Small Platter.

The platter features a scene of the country estate known as Nuneham Courtenay, on the Thames River not far from Oxford, in Oxfordshire, England. Below and surrounding the estate are lush grounds which were designed by the landscape artist Capability Brown c. 1780. The scene, which includes ponds, buildings, streams and low hills, is populated by people in rowboats in the foreground. The platter’s floral border is in the “Wild Rose” pattern.

Width: 19 cm

Depth: 13.8 cm

The platter has a few stable hairlines and a slightly more prominent 2.5 m one on L/H side of the inner rim as shown in but still displays nicely.

No maker's mark and only a printed figure 9.
